A full household clear out in Groveland, staged on the driveway of a two story home under a big oak. Will a Dumpster Crack or Stain a Concrete Driveway?
Not if it is placed properly on a sound slab. The weight is real, but a container distributes it along two long steel runners rather than concentrating it, and wood under those runners spreads it further while keeping bare steel off the surface. What actually damages driveways is a loaded trailer turning its wheels in place, or a box dragged rather than rolled off.
Staining is the more common complaint, and it comes from two things. Rust off the runners after the box has sat through a week of afternoon storms, and whatever leaks out of the load itself. Boards solve the first one. Nobody solves the second one completely, which is why a container holding wet drywall, food waste from a kitchen clear out, or an old fridge should not sit on decorative pavers or a stamped finish for a week. A dresser thrown in whole takes up the same room as six flattened boxes and half a garage worth of loose junk. Chairs are worse, because the legs cage off space nobody can fill afterward. So break down what breaks down, lay the flat pieces against the walls, and drop the bulky items in on their sides rather than upright. Keep the heavy things low and near the middle of the box.
